Holiday – days 4 – 6

It’s proving difficult to write as often as I thought I would!  Thr days are so full of new things to see and children to spend time with. The heat is also a factor and I have  been resting in the sfternoons to try and keep my energy levels up. I’ve decided to look for photos that I like and share a little. I think it will be a simpler way to record my trip. Picture/s first and then words …

Solivella

This is the place where my son works is a vineyard. There is old castle ruins that date back many centuries, and I found the place fascinating. The stone work and the way they were used to make patterns and then the holes in the wall for the arrow shooters in a time of conflict. It was not difficult to see why the castle had its location as the view was a clear vista over the land. I can only imagine what life was like in those times! It makes the imagination from books I have read Erayze life time become more real!

Montblanc

Montblanc was another town with medieval buildings and feel. We went out for lunch in this town and I wad able to get a gluten- free vegetarian pizza – it was delicious! I am beginning to enjoy a vermouth with my lunch meal. Quite a nice habit to acquire!

Barcelona

The arc de triomf was a huge structure – built as gate way to the world fair in Barcelona in 1888. It was lovely after that to find a green space with tall trees and different species of birds. I’ve missed seeing wildlife. It’s mainly been domestic and wild cats and lots of dogs.

Sagrada Familia

No visit to Barcelona would be complete without a visit to Sagrada Familia. I don’t think I have the words to give this place it’s due. So many adjectives: spectacular, awesome, grandeouse, huge, amazing and so on. We spent several hours there doing a self guide and also went up the tower and walked down the spitlral staircase. I’m so glad to have visited this place and had the experience. Forever grateful!
